Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange at close on Tuesday:
AGK - AGL ENERGY LTD - up 20 cents at $15.45
AGL Energy shares are higher after the company received approval for the first stage of a new coal seam gas (CSG) project in NSW.
AMM - AMCOM TELECOMMUNICATIONS LTD - up one cent at $1.515
Business-focused telco Amcom Telecommunications has delivered a 20 per cent lift in first half profit and flagged a similar result for the full year.
BKN - BRADKEN LTD - up 67 cents, or 10.98 per cent, at $6.77
Industrial equipment maker Bradken has increased its first half profit by nine per cent and is confident of conditions improving during the next six months.
CBA - COMMONWEALTH BANK OF AUSTRALIA - up 40 cents at $65.52
Commonwealth Bank is expected to post another bumper profit for the first half of the financial year, and shareholders are set to be the big winners.
QAN - QANTAS AIRWAYS LTD - up one cent at $1.58
Feb 12 AAP - Qantas Airways says its nine million frequent flyers will be able to use points to redeem flights across the Emirates network from March 31.
WHC - WHITEHAVEN COAL LTD - up 23 cents at $3.19
An investigation will be carried out into claims that Whitehaven Coal provided false information in applying to develop a controversial open-cut mine in northwest NSW.
