The Australian dollar is slightly higher after news that the US trade deficit shrank in December to its lowest level since January 2010.
At 0630 AEDT on Monday, the local unit was trading at 103.09 US cents, up from 102.98 cents on Friday.
The biggest month-on-month decline in the deficit in nearly four years also helped push US stocks higher on Friday.
