US stocks closed fairly flat on Wednesday after a choppy day of trading, with some positive earnings reports providing support.
At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 7.14 points (0.05 per cent) at 13,986.44.
The S&P 500 rose 0.82 (0.05 per cent) to 1,512.11, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index fell 3.10 (0.10 per cent) to 3,168.48.
