Hong Kong shares have dived 2.27 per cent after big losses on Wall Street fuelled by concerns over political instability in Spain and Italy.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index fell 536.48 points on Tuesday to 23,148.53 on turnover of HK$87.76 billion ($A10.91 billion).
Chinese shares closed up 0.2 per cent. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 4.98 points to 2,433.13 on turnover of 127.1 billion yuan ($A19.66 billion).
