Hong Kong stocks have tumbled 1.54 per cent in early trade, following big losses on Wall Street owing to growing political concerns in Spain and Italy.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index fell by 365.11 points to 23,319.90 on Tuesday.
Chinese shares were down 0.60 per cent in early trading on Tuesday as investors booked profits following a nearly six per cent rise since last week, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 14.55 points to 2,413.60.
