Hong Kong stocks have risen 0.18 per cent at the open following a rally on Wall Street that was fuelled by upbeat corporate earnings.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index on Wednesday added 41.46 points to 23,700.45 in the first few minutes of trade.
Chinese shares were down 0.15 per cent in early trading as investors took profits following a nearly 17 per cent rise since December, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slipped 3.58 points to 2,311.56.
