Tokyo shares opened 0.75 per cent higher on Wednesday following overnight gains in European and US markets.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange rose 67.57 points to 9,134.16. The Topix index of all first-section shares rose 4.16 points, or 0.54 per cent, to 781.27.
