Tokyo stocks have opened 0.50 per cent higher with the lower yen heartening investors.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 50.85 points at 10,130.97 in the first 20 minutes of trading on Wednesday as the Japanese currency dipped to a new 20-month low past 85.00 yen against the US dollar.
