At 1120 AEDT, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was UP 12.6 points at 4,636.2, while the broader All Ordinaries Index was UP 11.7 points at 4,646.9.
The Australian dollar was at 103.88 US cents, DOWN from 104.53 US cents at the close on Friday.
It was at 78.86 euro cents, DOWN from 79.18 euro cents at Friday's close.
The price of spot gold in Sydney is $US1,657.18 per fine ounce, UP from Friday's local close of $US1,644.32 per ounce.
