The Dow Jones Industrial Average is DOWN 47.46 points at 13,303.5 in the final minutes of trade in New York, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index is DOWN 5.49 points at 1,441.3.
The NASDAQ Composite index is 0.05 points LOWER at 3,054.48.
The Australian dollar is trading at 104.95 US cents, DOWN from 105.16 US cents at Wednesday's close.
The local currency is worth 88.58 Japanese yen, 79.2 euro cents, 64.57 British pence and 1.25 New Zealand dollars.
Benchmark crude oil GAINED $US1.58 to $US89.98 per barrel.
The Australia market is set to open slightly HIGHER, with the SPI futures index UP six points at 4,632.
The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index on Wednesday GAINED 22.6 points to 4,617.8 and the broader All Ordinaries index ADDED 22.7 points to 4,633.2.
The spot price of gold is $US1,669.50, DOWN from Wednesday's close of $US1,675.15.
