Tokyo stocks ended 0.13 per cent higher on Monday as a softer yen, positive Chinese manufacturing data and optimism over the US fiscal cliff budgetary impasse helped lift sentiment.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange added 12.17 points to 9,458.18, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares added 0.03 per cent, or 0.27 points, to 781.73.
