One of Myer's senior merchandise managers, Judy Coomber, has quit to take on the top job at sleepwear retailer Peter Alexander.
Ms Coomber will start work in new post in February after five years in her role at Myer overseeing the purchase of womenswear, childrenswear and cosmetics.
At Peter Alexander she will report directly to Mark McInnes, chief executive of Premier Investments, which owns the sleepwear business.
"Judy would be on the wish-list of every retail business in Australia, so I am thrilled to be able to announce her appointment," Mr McInnes said in a statement on Thursday.
"I know that Judy sees the amazing potential within Peter Alexander and she is looking forward to leading the expansion plans we have for that brand in both online and physical retailing."
Myer chief executive Bernie Brookes paid tribute to Ms Coomber and said group general merchandise manager Adam Stapleton would now lead all the retailer's merchandise teams.
Myer's head of womenswear, Nicole Naccarella, will also take on Ms Coomber's former responsibilities of the youth, childrenswear, footwear and accessories, intimate apparel and concession businesses.
