Hong Kong stocks rose 0.48 per cent in early trade on Thursday following a positive lead from Wall Street on hopes for a deal in the United States to avert the fiscal cliff.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 104.91 points to 21,813.89 in the opening minutes.
