Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange at noon on Thursday:
BHP - BHP BILLITON LTD - up 10 cents, or 0.29 per cent, at $34.10
BHP Billiton chairman Jac Nasser says he does not expect any significant increase in iron ore prices soon, following a year of heavy falls in Australia's biggest export earner.
SEPARATELY: Four abseilers are dangling from the Sydney Convention Centre as part of an environmental protest outside BHP Billiton's annual general meeting.
IAG - INSURANCE AUSTRALIA GROUP LTD - down one cent, or 0.22 per cent, at $4.45
The former head of eBay in Australia, Alison Deans, has joined the board of Insurance Australia Group (IAG).
QAN - QANTAS AIRWAYS LTD - up one cent, or 0.76 per cent, at $1.32
A union has accused Qantas of censorship after the airline pulled a series of in-flight advertisements promoting jobs for Australians in the mining sector.
RIO - RIO TINTO LTD - up 49 cents, or 0.86 per cent, at $57.19
