Europe's main stock markets fell at the start of trading on Monday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of top companies down 0.26 percent at 5,803.98 points.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 shed 0.31 percent to 7,286.69 points and in Paris the CAC 40 dropped 0.40 percent to 3,514.86.
