Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange at noon on Friday:

AVJ - AVJENNINGS LTD - last traded at 30 cents

Residential developer AVJennings is seeing some signs of improvement in the property market after a difficult year.

DJS - DAVID JONES LTD - up one cent, or 0.41 per cent, at $2.43

Recent interest rate cuts have yet to work their magic on consumers and get them spending again, David Jones' outgoing chairman Bob Savage says.

LEI - LEIGHTON HOLDINGS LTD - down 15 cents, or 0.88 per cent, at $16.93

A man has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $20 million from one of Australia's largest construction and infrastructure companies.
