Hong Kong stocks have added 0.33 per cent at the open, following a positive lead from Wall Street while dealers await the release of Chinese manufacturing data.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index on Thursday added 71.23 points to 21,595.59 in the first minutes of trade.
Chinese shares meanwhile were down 0.64 per cent in early trade as investors awaited manufacturing data due later in the day for a reading on the domestic economy, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 12.99 points to 2,017.33.
