Hong Kong stocks have risen 0.67 per cent in early trade after a late tumble in the previous session.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 143.29 points to 21,371.57 in the first minutes of trade.
Chinese shares were up 0.30 per cent in early trade on bargain-hunting, but gains may be limited as investors await cues on the domestic economy, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 6.04 points to 2,014.96.
