A Leighton Holdings subsidiary has been selected as the preferred proponent by US group Wynn Resorts to design and build the Wynn Cotai hotel resort in Macau, the world's biggest gaming hub.
"Leighton has built a solid track record in casino and hotel resorts in Macau over the past eight years with a number of significant projects successfully delivered, and we are delighted to be working with Wynn Resorts again," Leighton chief executive Hamish Tyrwhitt said in a statement on Monday.
No dollar value on the project was given.
Leighton Contractors (Asia), part of the Leighton Asia, India and Offshore Group, will be the preferred builder of the project that includes a luxury hotel and mixed-use podium comprising gaming, dining, retail, and convention facilities, a nightclub and numerous specialist attractions.
The resort site covers a construction floor area of more than 450,000 square metres.
