The Australian share market has opened about 0.3 per cent lower due to concerns about the short-term future of the United States economy.
At 1017 AEDT on Monday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 14.76 points, or 0.33 per cent, at 4,467.7, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 16.12 points, or 0.36 per cent, at 4,445.9.
On the ASX 24, the December share price index futures contract was down 25 points at 4,459, with 7,891 contracts traded.
