Wesfarmers unsure of flood impacts

Wesfarmers boss Richard Goyder says he expects to know in a few weeks time more about how the Queensland and northern NSW floods will affect supplies to its Coles supermarkets.
Mr Goyder told an analysts' briefing on the company's first half sales results that while it was too early to assess whether the floods would have an impact on its Coles business, the supermarket giant was committed to low prices.
"The flood impacts are a bit early to assess..," he said.
"It's not a key growing time at the moment. Some areas will be highly impacted but hopefully not from a customer point of view.
"Coles will keep pushing hard not just only on prices but on value."
He said Wesfarmers may have a clearer picture on the impacts on the floods on its business when it reports its profits in a few weeks time.
