Imports of goods rose by $518 million, or two per cent, in November to $21.762 billion, seasonally-adjusted, Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) figures show.
Unadjusted, imports of goods rose $588 million, or three per cent, to $22.876 billion, the ABS said in a statement on Tuesday.
Intermediate and other merchandise goods rose $411 million - or five per cent - driven by fuels and lubricants, which rose $189 million, or six per cent.
Consumption goods were up $163 million (three per cent), and capital goods rose $124 million (two per cent), while non-monetary gold fell $179 million (33 per cent).
